Pity Dinner Trivia

Today we are traveling "up'ta" camp! Squirt's family generously allows us to visit their beautiful home near Sugarloaf. We will eat, drink, take walks, read and play some Wii. Such fun.

Since we will be eating some fast food en route, there will be little worthy of description. Instead some PD basics... We live in an old house. The kitchen cabinet for dinner plates is on an exterior wall. This cabinet gets pretty chilly in winter, so we warm the plates on the radiator. Regular rotating to get them all consistently toasty helps ensure our delicious food does not get cold from immediate contact with freezing stoneware.

Meal Five: Matzo-Pizza Lasagna

Meal Seven : Pork Chops with Tomato Gravy

This meal had a few doubters at the start, but it was a big success.  Pork Chops with Tomato Gravy served over Cheese Grits ... southern goodness from a Yankee chef! The king kutter provided perfectly shredded cheese- as usual.

Meal Ten: Skillet Macaroni with Zesty Meat Sauce

This was good easy fare for a rainy Summer evening.   Skillet Macaroni with Zesty Meat Sauce gave us the chance to use our basil (which recovered from some type of animal attack earlier this season) and new pan.  It was a generous portion with enough leftovers for everyone. We didn't want to be too simple for our skilled chef, so we added a bakery component.  Garlic Cheese Biscuits from Paula Deen were perfect!  These yummy little treats did NOT have any leftovers. Even our birthday boy Squirt noticed right when he walked in... "those look like the Bisquick biscuits my mom used to make", to which we responded "they are!"
