Getting Started

New Year's Resolution... blog about Pity Dinner.

Our tradition is that Friday nights, we gather for yummy meals. It started when Squirt was off at school in Florida and Bubbles and I "took pity" on Dory for dinner companionship at the end of the week.

Once C-Pap and Frizz moved to Maine, they joined in and soon we were the Super Six!

Dory travels often for work, so we skip some weeks, but if the chef is available... G Street hosts a weekly gathering of great food and loads of laughs. 2010 will be the year I share the photos and "reviews".

Meal Five: Matzo-Pizza Lasagna

Meal Seven : Pork Chops with Tomato Gravy

This meal had a few doubters at the start, but it was a big success.  Pork Chops with Tomato Gravy served over Cheese Grits ... southern goodness from a Yankee chef! The king kutter provided perfectly shredded cheese- as usual.

Meal Ten: Skillet Macaroni with Zesty Meat Sauce

This was good easy fare for a rainy Summer evening.   Skillet Macaroni with Zesty Meat Sauce gave us the chance to use our basil (which recovered from some type of animal attack earlier this season) and new pan.  It was a generous portion with enough leftovers for everyone. We didn't want to be too simple for our skilled chef, so we added a bakery component.  Garlic Cheese Biscuits from Paula Deen were perfect!  These yummy little treats did NOT have any leftovers. Even our birthday boy Squirt noticed right when he walked in... "those look like the Bisquick biscuits my mom used to make", to which we responded "they are!"
