Meal Eighteen: Crunchy Fish
The birthday girl wanted crispy Haddock. Eeyore did her usual wonderful job and enhanced a bit, using the fry technique from the recent chicken nuggets. Roasted potatoes and crunchy slaw completed the meal and a cheesy bread flower started us out.
Cakes of many shapes and flavors were provided as our special girl wished.
This meal had a few doubters at the start, but it was a big success. Pork Chops with Tomato Gravy served over Cheese Grits ... southern goodness from a Yankee chef! The king kutter provided perfectly shredded cheese- as usual.
Pasta Bar gives plenty of yummy options our different eaters. There was even a special Birthday cupcake for my little guy... Banana with Peanut Butter Frosting homemade by T!
This was a favorite of Tigger's growing up. His Grandma would make it for him and even gave me copy of the recipe with her added notes (more cheese ... sometimes I leave off the tomatoes...) . Tigger has been missing his grandpa recently as he refinishes his old drafting table, so a little homage was a good solution. Its more known as Impossibly Easy Cheeseburger Pie today and some sauteed corn worked right along side. Hooray for childhood treats!
